Summary of selected research on porn addiction

A lot of people watch a lot of porn . Some are addicted and cannot stop even if they wanted to. But what effect does it have on us to watch so much online porn? Some say it is normal and that it has come to stay. Others have been drumming for decades for human rights to pornography as part of the sexual revolution.

The high prevalence of pornography has given rise to many studies from independent universities about the effects that people are exposed to, by a large consumption of pornography. Here is an excerpt of some results with reference and sources. A lot is happening in this area at the moment and this list will be updated as research advances.

  • Prevents a person's ability to build healthy relationships and experience true intimacy [4]

  • Erectile Dysfunction (Impotence) [6]

  • New studies have shown a link between young people's porn consumption and their sexual behavior. It affects what they prefer, consider norm and what they tolerate [7] .

  • May confuse a person's sexual values ​​and preferences [8]

  • Increased acceptance of infidelity in future relationships and marriages by 300% [9]

  • Makes people passive and weakens the will [10] .
